How Are Aluminum Alloys Classified

  Aluminum alloy can be divided into cast aluminum alloy, deformed aluminum alloy, non heat treatment strengthened aluminum alloy and heat treatment strengthened aluminum alloy. Elements commonly added to aluminum alloys include Si, Cu, Mg, Zn, etc. Characteristics of cast aluminum alloy: low strength, low cost, large fluctuation of material chemical composition, poor mechanical properties, but good fluidity. Characteristics of wrought aluminum alloy: high strength, strict requirements on composition and good mechanical properties. The aluminum alloys that cannot be heat treated include AI SI system and AI Mn system, and the aluminum alloys that can be heat treated include AI Cu system, AI mg system and Al Zn system.
